Creating and Dancing in View Profile

In Spring 2011, I was part of the team that developed and performed a telematic dance piece called View Profile. The piece was developed as part of a dance technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and was a collaboration between UIUC and the Sonic Arts Research Center (SARC) in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

It took place in two sites on the Illinois campus, and one at SARC, all connected by multiple channels of high quality, ultra-low latency audio and multiple video links. It dealt with issues of mediated identity, personal movement identities and imitation and the different ways people navigate these aspects of contemporary life.
