I performed The Painter in Love with his Model, a ballet-pantomime notated by dancer Auguste Ferrere in 1782, as part of Professor Linda Tomko’s 18th Century Dance course at the University of California Riverside. The class was studying three scenes from this piece, one of the earlist notated ballets. I
Engraved musical scores more legible for contemporary musicians
Created virtual recordings of the musical numbers for use in class
Performed accompaniment parts on keyboard for the class’s final showing
This was a fun way to engage my interest in music history and bring this ancient music to life for the students.
